What we collect

Penpal signups: your name or nickname, email, city and state, swap preferences, and what you tell us about yourself. We never ask for your street address on this website.
Gallery submissions: your name for credit, email, optional link, your photo and caption.
Printable and newsletter signups: your first name and email.
Maker inquiries: your name, email, shop details and message.

To match penpals and email you about your match.
To show approved gallery photos with the credit you gave us.
To send the monthly Junk Drawer letter, only if you ticked that box.
To let Kylie at KYR Websites contact you about websites, only if you ticked that separate box or sent the maker form.

Kylie, who runs the club. When you're matched, Kylie emails each of you privately with your match's name, city, state and what they wrote about themselves. Only after you both accept does your penpal get your email address, Instagram handle (if you gave one) and your "please avoid" list. Then you swap mailing addresses privately between you.
Everything you send is stored in the club's own private database on our web host (Opalstack). No outside form or marketing services see it, and we don't sell your information to anyone.
Gallery photos are resized in your browser before upload, which also removes hidden location data your phone may have added.

The club is for people 18 and older in the US. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
